Our Third Annual Show Hope!

Each year at Hope Reins in Texas, we provide the opportunity for all of the students and patients in our program to showcase their achievements to their friends, families, and community at this special on-site rider showcase!

Spectators will enjoy watching as our riders are judged in barrels, dressage, trail, and showmanship. Our judges this year, Lane Porter and Dr. Fritzi Strowmatt, will be providing judge’s reasons so that our participants can see the progress they have achieved from previous years and discover what they can continue to work on for next year’s Show Hope. At the end of Show Hope, each rider will receive a special commemorative award to remind them of their hard work each year.

Meet our Judges
Lane Porter
Lane Porter is a 4th generation rancher managing the same ranch he grew up on. Lane and his wife raised their two children, Levin and Carlie there.
Lane has been involved in production agriculture his entire life and has made many trips to meet with legislators in Washington DC promoting rural agriculture needs. He has served as president of the Pecos County Livestock Show Association, director of the San Angelo Stock show and Rodeo, district chairman of the Farm Service Agency board, as well as president of the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association. He was the leader for the local 4-H Horse Club and he was involved in many aspects while his children participated in 4-H Horse Judging and High School Rodeo.
Lane has extensive experience in all aspects of horse training and care having broke and trained many of the horses used on the ranch.
